SIXTEEN THINGS YOU MAY WANNA KNOW ABOUT US AND DROWN IN COLOUR
1. We recorded it in the industrial slums of Petersham, Sydney at Megaphon Studios and mixed it at Studio One in the gentrified boho hub of Collingwood, Melbourne.2. Paul 'Woody' Annison, the same drunk that produced our last record Replica Replica, also produced his way through this one.
3. The whole thing, recording, mixing and mastering, took us 4 weeks.
4. We lost one member, Adrian Deutsch, and gained a new one, Brad Heald of The Vines fame/infamy.
5. Brad is way tougher than the rest of us nancies and has the best stories.
6. When we started thinking about making a new record at the start of 2008, I wanted to make a pastoral post-punk record.
7. The band thought that was a lame idea. So...
8. The only song that survived from those days is 'Ordinary'.
9. My next attempt started with an imaginary inspirational mix tape that had The Replacements' 'Answering Machine', Cat Power's 'Crossbones Style', My Bloody Valentine's 'Soon' and Tears For Fears' 'Shout' on it, it also involved me drunkenly telling everyone that we were gonna make a record of big riffs.
10. I don't know if it really ended up sounding like any of that.
11. The album title came from a song that didn't end up making the cut.
12. The first single, 'You've Got A Lot Of Nerve', wasn't gonna be recorded at all, but Woody insisted.
13. Good on ya Woody.
14. Ivy League were gonna have us committed to a mental institution if we left a certain song off the record. Can you guess which one?
15. If you're looking for an angle, here's a bunch1.
and...
16. We're kinda proud of it. Yeah

THIRTEEN MORE THINGS WE THINK YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THEM AND DROWN IN COLOUR
1. This is the second album they have made.2. Their first one, 'Replica Replica', was pretty darn awesome if we do say so ourselves.
3. It was triple j's feature album and they played 'Slide In Next To Me', 'A.S.P.I.R.I.N' and 'My Love Is Stronger Than Your Love' a heck of a lot.
4. "Red Riders are the real thing," wrote jmag.
5. "Never mind the bold locks, here are the young guns," wrote The West Australian.
6. "Red Riders rule," wrote, er, us.
7. They have played many, many shows and we have kept the ticket stubs for ALL of them, including shows with Franz Ferdinand, Snow Patrol, The Living End and loads more.
8. Actually, we haven't.
9. We have, however, kept a TV Hits poster featuring them up on the office wall. First laying eyes on that poster was one of our proudest moments.
10. They've just played shows in the USA in LA, New York and at South by Southwest. Rumour has it Playboy bunnies and members of the Black Eyed Peas were among the happy throng of gig attendees.
11. We have not stopped listening to their new record 'Drown In Colour' since they first said, 'hey, we're gonna make a new record' and gave us demos.
12. Yeah, I guess you could say we like it lots.
and...
13. We also really liked the lovely painting of a sail boat that Brad put in the studio while recording.
